Prior to setting up her own company, Dr. Phang spent 6 years working at MERCI, a Singapore-based medtech incubator, to develop and commercialize innovative medical devices. During her time with MERCI, Dr. Phang held important positions in various departments including R&D, project management, clinical research and business development. She managed the transcatheter heart valve portfolio, led the team to win multi-million funding and successful granting of patent for the innovative technology. At the same time, Dr Phang also spearheaded the clinical research division of MERCI and successfully completed 6 medical device trials. She was also involved in 2 project spin-offs and 1 IP licensing deal. After leaving MERCI, Dr Phang joined a local medical device startup as Operations Director, overseeing the CE Mark trial in Europe. Over the years, Dr Phang has accumulated extensive experience in Class III cardiovascular devices development, patent strategy development, clinical research, regulatory affairs and has collaborated closely with internationally-renown cardiovascular clinicians.
